Audience Research - Questionnaire
In order to gain an understanding of our potential viewing audience, myself and my group devised a questionnaire with both open and closed questions to give us a greater understanding of what the general expectations of horror films are.
We have each decided to promote the questionnaire differently; as I have the biggest social media following, I will be posting it on my twitter/facebook account, Shahnaaz will be asking her family and friends, and Christal will be asking people around school and her friends outside of school. Our decision to do this was based on the fact that those unable to access my private facebook/twitter will still be inculuded in the research, and also handing out physical copies will help us gain quick responses from people.
We will each individually evaluate our findings of the survey in 2 weeks.

AS-A2 Media Transition Documentary
After completing our AS Media coursework and exam, we were put into groups of three (myself, Robyn and Mariya) and were given the task of making a short documentary based on a topic that we were interested in. As I want to be a teacher in the future, I used this opportunity to gain an insight in what it's like to be an NQT in a secondary school. This task was given to us to help us develop a number of skills for the production of our horror trailers in A2. For example, prior to this task, we only used the cameras to take pictures for our AS coursework. By making this short documentary, I was able to develop a greater understanding of how different using a camera to take pictures with compared to using it to film would be. I also learnt a considerable amount about editing, and how post-production can enhance my work. One of the improvements I would make to this with hindsight is possibly using tone cards to break down the narrative more; this is something I will consider when producing my horror trailer for my A2 coursework later in the year.
